Alleviating hunger remains our top priority. Apart from packing and distributing food parcels the Conference also supports 30 Soup Kitchens in the area. These sprang up in March 2020 and continue to serve around 100-150 meals every day.
They are playing a huge role in feeding the hungry and we continue to support them with a monthly financial donation. Among the kitchens we support are: MES, Mercy Aids, CAN, Hotspot Kitchens, Dammert and Olympians, which cover Klipheuwel, Fisantekraal, Kraaifontein, Brackenfell, Wallacedene, Bloekombos and Bellville South. Through these soup kitchens we are managing to cover all of our outlying areas.
Grateful thanks to all involved in the project, as well as to the parish knitting team which keeps needy families supplied with children’s jerseys, beanies and soft toys.
