News from Howick

Grateful thanks to all who gave during the Lenten appeal; your support made it possible for us to assemble and distribute care packages to those in need in and around Howick. Rice, maize meal, sugar, tea, soup, dried beans, cans of beans and pilchards, as well as cleaning products and toiletries, were appreciated so much by people in greatest need.

With winter in full swing, and a definite chill in the air, we are collecting blankets (new and used) to hand out to all those people who find this time of year a miserable experience.

Cyclone Idai

Thanks to generous donations of clothing, blankets, sheets and towels, we were able to fill 15 large bags and send them off to victims of the devastating floods in Mozambique through Caritas  – the Catholic Charity.

Closer to home, Fr Luigi recently collected donated clothing for the flood victims in Durban, who were left without with nothing, and in some cases homeless.

We are so blessed to have such generous parishioners who support and enable our work. Whether it is donating second hand blankets, clothing or food, or donating cash via the donations box in the entrance to your church – we thank you! Your thoughts and prayers for us, our work and the poor is greatly appreciated.
