On 5 May members of SSVP Soweto willingly volunteered their time to help sort and pack clothing, ready for transportation to Durban, where it will be distributed to victims of the recent floods.
Supporting the SSVP members were youth from the 2022 Confirmation Class. St Thomas More conference also sent boxes of clothing donated for KZN flood victims.
On Friday 13 May 2022 Ronelle Govender, Central Council President for Durban, was interviewed on Mike Mahony’s Living the Scriptures programme on Radio Veritas. LifeLine Pretoria is now a drop-off point for all things ‘household’ as they partner with us to bring relief to the affected communities in KZN. Our intent is to forward much needed items for homeowners who have lost everything. Please clear your clutter and drop items off at their head office, 71 Watermeyer St. Pretoria.
The list of needs:
- Second hand blankets/linen
- Clothing/shoes
- Toiletries
- Essential food staples (maizemeal, rice, sugar, canned food)
- Household utensils
- Fabric/knitting wool
- Building materials and paint.
