Residents of Frederic Place enjoyed a glorious cruise at Stone Haven recently. One of the residents, Mike Knowt, said he would never forget that special Monday.
“As Monday is usually a meatless day at our Home, we were pleasantly surprised that the outing
included a gourmet lunch: chicken, roast potatoes, vegetables, salads and a mouth watering desert,” he said.
The cruise brought back memories of residents’ younger days, especially for those who had worked in shipping or fishing. They sailed the length and breadth of the dam, which took about two hours, before enjoying their
scrumptious lunch in the Stone Haven dining area. Unfortunately residents in wheelchairs could not be accommodated on the boat cruise – but we hope to arrange more fun outings that are suitable for them.
We would like to thank the owners and management of Stone Haven for a wonderful experience. There was even a
board welcoming us and acknowledging the Frederic Place residents’ visit.
