While most people were shopping for last minute gifts, food and drink for their festive meals, St Vincent de Paul members were out and about delivering your gifts of kindness and love. Thank you for supporting our Christmas appeal so generously.
Thanks to your support, we were able to visit the shabbiest streets and the poorest homes to bring the message of peace and goodwill to those would otherwise not be touched by the Christmas spirit.
Around the country, we delivered food parcels to people in need, as well as countless ready-to-eat meals to people living on the streets.
It’s a humbling experience to connect to people who literally have nothing but the clothes on their backs … clothes that are often worn to a thread. A few kind words, someone to acknowledge their existence, and food to keep hunger at bay for a few hours literally brings tears to their eyes.
Children were not forgotten either. We provided brightly wrapped toys and treats for the little ones in places Santa doesn’t visit.
